The Legend of Our Kitten Zelda!

Recently, a family came to our Inawashiro shelter with a kitten, placed in a bicycle helmet. We curiously asked for more information and the children explained that they found the little kitty in a gutter.

She wasn't in the best of health. She couldn't open her eyes or breathe properly. She also had lice, which meant we had to thoroughly clean her and wash the pesky things away. She still seemed extremely weak and we thought we would lose her if she didn't get her medications soon. Without wasting any time, the shelter volunteers took her to the vet. Our volunteer, Laura, constantly kept an eye on her in the car during the journey to the vet, to make sure she was alright.

The vet was incredibly kind. He took care of her, put eye drops in her eyes & nose. We were so happy when, thanks to this, she could open her eyes and breathe much more easily. The vet instructed us to keep an eye on her and to put eyes drop every two hours. She couldn't eat by herself, so Laura fed her with a syringe (just some kitten milk and water). A few days passed and she seemed to be doing better. So, the volunteers then tried to give her some food with a spoon and to our relief, she happily ate it.

Slowly, one step after another, she started playing with us.

Now one of her favorite things to do is to climb on everyone's shoulders.

Zelda is an adorable, well-behaved kitten who loves playing with her humans. She's a complete extrovert and loves having company. This cat is also quite an entertainer. Sometimes when Laura's doing the dishes, she gently climbs over her shoulder and observes the world around her. We love our little princess! Get in touch with us to know how you can adopt her.
