Updates from Claude and Peanut
It’s been 4 months since Nikko and Durin are here with us and we found Mickey just a few days after Nikko and Durin came home. It’s been quite a journey for all of us to be honest.Durin was a very shy guy when he first came in. I used to see him next to Nikko all the time and he wasn't very comfortable when he was alone or when Nikko would decide to explore the apartment.
It’s taken a while for Durin but we are very happy to see the changes in him. He didn't let us touch him or pet him the way Nikko allowed and it was totally understandable because we were complete strangers to him. Gradually over the days, we saw him come sit next to us or even sometimes get inside the blanket and cosy up. He loved to get his belly rubbed and that was the first thing we discovered when he got comfortable.
He would come to us and almost lie down next to us so we could either brush him or rub his belly and pamper him. With Mickey around, we saw him play and jump like a kitten, he would almost chase Mickey and vice versa around the apartment. This was a remarkable change in him. I was used to seeing Durin always hiding and sitting on the cat tree and used to think that he is going to take a bit more time to get used to us, but when the changes happened, it happened quite fast and we were very surprised.
He likes to play around with hair ties and he wouldn't play much in front of us, so one day I left my phone in the room with video mode switched on. Here’s what I found.
It’s really wonderful to see such a beautiful friendship that Nikko and Durin have and the love and care they show towards Mickey and tolerate him so much because he really is a hyper kitten. I thank JCN for not keeping these kitties in the cage and in fact leaving them in a room to be free has made a huge difference when it comes to them getting adjusted with a new place.
Hope all the adorable kitties find their forever home soon.
