Meet Tempura!

Tempura's life outside was a hard one. When a kind couple reported him, he was starving, fearful, and covered in glue, and he wasn't easy to get close to. It took real teamwork to rescue him, and that same couple went on to foster him.

They've worked incredibly hard for him, but with two cats of their own, one of them battling cancer, their home hasn't been the right place for Tempura to settle. Our shelter is stretched thin and can only offer him a cage, and he's been very unhappy there.

Underneath the hissing, there's a lot to love. Tempura is engaged, interactive, and playful, and he's very food motivated, which is a big help when building trust. He can still be defensive and hissy, and he's learning to feel comfortable indoors, so he needs a calm, patient person with time to spend with him every day.

The ideal home would start him off in a secure room of his own with somewhere high to perch, plenty of enrichment, and no gaps to slip through. With the right person, this sassy boy has so much potential.
