Tonchi

Meet Tonchi!

Tonchi was living in a parking lot in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, when some kind tourists reported a cat in distress. She was malnourished, with an injured leg, and her only shelter from the weather was the space under the parked cars. She cried at passersby for food.

Our first rescue plan fell through, because she couldn't be caught before the tourists had to leave. They didn't give up on her. Even after going home they kept reaching out on her behalf, and on the second attempt our partners at Nekokaramesen brought her in safely.

Our vet found no serious issues beyond her fear and poor condition, and she tested negative for FIV and FeLV. After a stay in a temporary foster home in Tokyo, Tonchi joined our Kyoto program.

She was quite nervous at first, but never defensive, and she soon warmed up. These days she loves attention and good food, she's a big fan of treats, pets and chin rubs, and she has plenty to say. She'll do best with a patient adopter who lets her set the pace.

If you think you could be Tonchi's patient person, please get in touch!
